Our purpose is similarly tied to our identity and ultimately to our being a part of God's family, which like all families was intended to be a haven of love. We are told to love God and enjoy his love for us (Deut 6).

Our worship then, is that joy expressed through words (praise), thoughts (attitudes) and deeds (obedience), "that we might be for the praise of his glory".(Eph 1:14) Our purpose then is to glorify God by enjoying him forever.

Confused? We understand. So many of us have a variety of experiences (both positive and negative) about church that colour the way we think. Many people think of church in terms of a time and place. Yet, that is just one of many gatherings that make up "church".

There are many gatherings of God's people throughout the week. We don't want to get too caught up on the form or the size of the gathering.   The quality of the gathering seems far more important to our Father.   His quality assurance is His Spirit who dwells within us and in the midst of us.   Those who have placed their faith into the hands of Jesus, are born into God's family.   Whilst individually - you are a part of God's family - we can only be God's family together.   The mark of this family is the Holy Spirit, transforming his people to share a family likeness.   We are called by God to love him and enjoy his love for us.   We call our expression of that enjoyment - through thoughts, actions and words - worship.   As worship spills over into our attitudes, praise and service the family likeness shines.   Our father is seen for who he really is - he get's the glory and draws others into his family.   He sends us out everyday to let that family likeness shine.   The stand out child in this family is Jesus - the Son of God.   He shines like no other.  As we shine that likeness, others are drawn to build the family.  That's called mission. In fact, the family is never big enough, there's always room for more so, we'd love to be the first to welcome you!
