The answer to "who am I?" - without God - is such an overwhelming disappointment that people are generally forced to either ignore the question all together or bolster their self doubts with a rather false bravado.

So in the letter to the Ephesians, Paul answers the question of identity by explaining it in terms of adoption into God's family, "It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for"(Eph 1:12 Msg). Who we are is answered by our relationship to God. As we are the children of God, the more important question is, "Who is your Father?"

Together, we are one expression of the larger family of God who... incredibly are being shaped and built together to become - as it were - a dwelling place in which, God himself lives through his Spirit. So as we meet, we anticipate his presence amongst us and celebrate that fact through a number of ways.

Imagine our surprise when we discovered he wanted to dwell in us - mere humans! Just think of the room for error. You could be excused for wondering (as we ourselves often do), "What was he thinking?" I guess the wisdom of this decision will be seen when finally we realise, that it wasn't us but his Spirit in us that qualified us to be his dwelling place.

His Spirit, different to the default setting so often we see around us, is helping us to learn to love one another - warts and all:) It takes time, but we're committed to his plan and are trusting that we'll all get better at this as we journey together. We welcome you to be a part of that journey!
